Blurbs Before Bed: In The Beginning

It’s that time of the year again.

The time where I try to build the habit of writing, every single day, for as long as I can.

For some of you who’ve read my Medium posts for a while now, you’ll know that this is not a new project. It’s a recurring thing, an attempt to remind myself annually of my hopes and dreams to one day write full time.

The past attempts wouldn’t really be considered a “success”. But all the more reason to try again, right?

Something feels different about this time (although that’s what I say every time).

The rules are the same: 100 words (at minimum), every single day. Minimal editing (if any). I’m free to write about whatever I want — this isn’t really meant to be a value add to anyone else’s life, but if someone finds something meaningful among my blurbs that’s great too.

There are also some things that are different now. I’ve added a new title: Blurbs Before Bed (or BBB for short) because that’s (probably) the only time I’ll be able to write. I also now have a job, which means that I won’t have the luxury of free time between classes to bang out a hundred words and quickly post it. I also haven’t written for a while — it’s not the same as when I was writing 1 post weekly.

But I can’t wait for the right time. I can’t keep making excuses. I just have to throw myself back into the fray, again and again.

You’re free to come on this journey. Read the posts, comment what you think, let me know what works and what doesn’t work, write 100 words yourself.

Let’s see how far we can get this time.
