BBB: The end of the beginning.
2020 has come to an end.
It’s been a hard year for everyone. I think we all are breathing a collective sigh of relief to finally finish 2020.
While it’s true that 2021 may not be any better, but at least there’s some hope that it’ll be better than the disaster that 2020 was.
But as bad as 2020 was, it still was the start of a lot of things for me. And for a lot of other people too.
Somehow, among the mess, people were able to find friends. Find jobs. Find love. Find new projects. Find new stories to tell. Find new ways to connect and educate.
As crappy as we are, this new year reminds me that at our core, there is beauty. There is kindness. There is resilience.
No matter how many horrible things we’ve been through last year, we’re still here. We’re still alive. We’re still pushing ourselves to see the sun rise tomorrow.
I’m going off on a tangent here, but I just want to say that although 2021 may not be as special as we expect it to be, that’s not a reason to lose hope.
We’ll adapt. We’ll improve. We’ll grow. We’ll be better.
2020 was just the beginning of the rest of our lives.
Now that it’s ended, it’s time to write some new chapters.
Happy new year to everyone reading this. Thank you for reading. I’m so grateful that there are people reading this. I hope it makes you feel less lonely, and reminds you that we’re all struggling and that’s okay.
